Introduction

Over the period September 15^th to October 7, 1988, as chairman and representative from Ireland of EHOA and Vice Chair of IFEH, I visited:

Singapore; Sydney and Brisbane, Australia; and Kuala Lumpur and Serandong, Selanor, Malaysia.

The trip was in connection with:

• Attendance at the Inaugural World Congress of Environmental Health in Sydney, Australia;
• Delivery of a paper: Systems Theory and Environmental Health Management at the Congress;
• Chairing of the AGM and Council meeting of IFEH in Sydney; and
• Organising the production and launch of the first issue of the International Journal of Environmental Health.
